What customers say?

“ One of those family owned restaurants where you can get the most authentic Chinese food. Reasonable price. Service is slow but the crew is very friendly. Excellent Hot and Sour soup. I tried the Mongolian Lamb and found it delicious (I like hot dishes). I recommend this place. ”

“ We visited Great River Chinese restaurant, and were warmly welcomed with a nice pot of tea. The waitress was incredibly attentive and took great care of our group of four visiting from LA. We ordered Mongolian beef, chicken fried rice, and Westlake beef soup — everything was absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous. The flavors were spot-on, and we all left completely satisfied. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back on our next trip! ”

“ Standard chinese restaurant with very nice owners. Really enjoy the Wor Wonton soup. I found all of their soup offeri ga to be fine ( I am a soup pe rson). Not a big fan of the fried shrimp app., but the pot stickers are okay. Their version of Mongolian beef does not have as much green onion as I usually like, but is still tastey without being overly sweet ”

“ Four Stars - A Solid Choice for Comfort Food I recently tried Great River Chinese Restaurant, a local Chinese restaurant, and came away pleasantly satisfied. It's not going to win any Michelin stars, but it's a dependable spot for a good, classic Chinese meal. The Pros: * Generous Portions: You definitely get your money's worth here. The dishes were piled high, and we had plenty of leftovers. * Classic Flavors: They stick to the tried-and-true favorites, and execute them well. The Szechuan chicken had a nice kick, and the fried rice was flavorful and not greasy. *Service: Our server was attentive and efficient, even though the restaurant was fairly busy. Food arrived quickly, which is always a plus. * Good Value: The prices are reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. The Cons: * Ambiance is Average: The decor is a bit dated, and the atmosphere isn't anything special. It's more of a casual, no-frills dining experience. * Menu a bit generic: nothing really stood out as a unique or signature dish. Overall: Is a solid choice for a reliable and satisfying Chinese meal. It's perfect for a casual dinner with family or friends when you're craving comfort food. While it may not be the most innovative or stylish restaurant, it delivers on flavor and value. I'd happily return for another round of their classic dishes. ”

“ Three other men and I ordered the Pot Stickers, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Salt and Pepper Fish, Chicken Chow Mein, Crispy Duck, and Mongolian Beef. Everything was well prepared with the right combination of flavors and textures. The batter on the fish and shrimp wasn’t light and airy like others places we’ve been, but a more satisfying crispy thickness. There are boxes in the restaurant, and the Xmas music wasn’t great, but the food more than made up for it. ”

“ I’ve been going here since it’s close to my workplace. The lady who works here speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese and I enjoy our conversations each time. The food comes out FAST (like 10-15 minutes) even when there were two or three other groups. We have ordered almost everything on the menu. Favorites are salt and pepper chicken wings, Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, house fried rice, wonton soup, and sweet and sour pork. ”

“ First time in and lunch was super good, service was nice and really helpful we had soup of the day , tea, and kung pow shrimp ”

“ Backstory. My partner and I have been regular visitors or semi-regular visitors to the IHOP next door for over 20 years. They must have been a lot of takeout because every time we went to IHOP there was hardly anybody in the Great River parking lot. Well we decided this weekend to actually go and check it out and funny enough, quite a few cars in the parking lot. We kept it simple because we really didn't feel like eating much. So we just got chicken and vegetables, and chop suey because it is pretty much all veggie, and a couple of bowls of rice. Everything was nicely cooked, the chicken was tender. Very nice lady waiting on us Yes we will return because we always like to find a nice Chinese restaurant where we can just relax and chill out for a while. We used to have one of those in Fremont but it closed. Sad to say so. We've been on the hunt for a while. A good find. ”
